Many people still can not find the difference between traveling and holiday. When we google the definitions of both of them, here are what we get:
/ˈtravəl/
verb
1. make a journey, typically of some length or abroad.
/ˈhäləˌdā/
noun
1. a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done.
verb BRITISH
1. spend a holiday in a specified place.
But for me--and to make it simpler, traveling is when you explore a place or some places. No matter how far it is, if the place is in the same city, as long as you explore it, it can be called TRAVELING. When you are traveling, usually a lot of walking involved.
And if you go abroad on your day off but you just stay at the hotel--or another kinds of accommodation, go out to the malls, hang out at cafes, that means you are taking HOLIDAY. According to Huffpost, on holiday, activities are generally less strenuous or done in moderation.
So, travelling and taking a holiday can be differentiated by how you spend you day(s).
My travel experiences around Jakarta
On one fine Saturday (9/14, Eng.), my friend and I decided to dress up then we went to Kemang area with GrabShare (it's cheaper!--plus there was another promo! Yeaaay!) and had my DSLR camera with us to do some photo hunting. We were going to have a little bit art-space tour!
First place we visited was Dia.Lo.Gue. Dia.Lo.Gue is located on St. Kemang Selatan. The place is quite invisible. That was my third visit there in a week, but it was still hard to find the place. Even on that visit, I asked my GrabShare driver to drop us off at the wrong place.

The interior of Dia.Lo.Gue is so instagramable, including the toilet! Though I bet most of you who read this have seen this most mainstream stairs in town on your instagram timeline or explore. Yeah, that stairs is at Dia.Lo.Gue.
Then we continued our journey to Edwin's Gallery with another GrabShare. Edwin's Gallery is on St. Kemang Selatan. It was my first time to visit Edwin's Gallery, but it's not really hard to find the place. You can tell from the gate which one is an art gallery around there. And I already felt in love with this place since I saw the porch. My friend and I took some photos of us at the porch and. The ambience of this place was so good.

Like Dia.Lo.Gue's, Edwin's Gallery's toilet is also instagramable. It's located at the backyard. Like the gate and the porch, the toilet gave us Javanese vibes, whom I love so much!
There are another buildings that are not parts of the artspace, including the building of the shop. The exterios were really good. The man who was at the front table said one of the buildings was the operational office. When I asked him, "is there a cafe here?" he pointed one of the other buildings and said, "will be there. It's on process."

If I'm asked are these art gaelleries recommended? YES! Especially if you really enjoy visiting art exhebitions. But if I have to choose them, I prefer Edwin's Gallery because it was not the crowdy. Edwin's Gallery is not really known if compared to Dia.Lo.Gue, or I say it "a hidden gem". Also, the exhibition guides of Dia.Lo.Gue and Edwin's Gallery were friendly, but the ones at Dia.Lo.Gue watched me (watched the visitors) quite annoyingly. But it might be because when I visited Dia.Lo.Gue, the exhibiton were all porcelain. Although, for me, visiting an art gallery is always worth.
