Many people still can not find the difference between traveling and holiday. When we google the definitions of both of them, here are what we get:

/ˈtravəl/
verb
1.  make a journey, typically of some length or abroad.

/ˈhäləˌdā/
noun
 1. a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done.
 verb BRITISH
 1. spend a holiday in a specified place.

But for me--and to make it simpler, traveling is when you explore a place or some places. No matter how far it is, if the place is in the same city, as long as you explore it, it can be called TRAVELING. When you are traveling, usually a lot of walking involved.
And if you go abroad on your day off but you just stay at the hotel--or another kinds of accommodation, go out to the malls, hang out at cafes, that means you are taking HOLIDAY. According to Huffpost, on holiday, activities are generally less strenuous or done in moderation.
So, travelling and taking a holiday can be differentiated by how you spend you day(s).
